If you are planning to introduce new computers into your network and you are currently using Windows 2003SBS or Exchange 20003 then please read on.
Microsoft have released MS Office 2013 making Microsoft office 2010 end of life.
This means Microsoft Office 2010 will soon become impossible to get hold of.
Why does this affect you?
Most users of Microsoft exchange also use Microsoft Outlook as their default Email client.
Unfortunately Microsoft Outlook 2013 is not compatible with exchange 2003.
What action should I take?
In a nutshell, if you plan to add new computers or replace workstations on your network then now is the time to be thinking about upgrading your Windows 2003 Small Business Server to Windows 2011 Small Business Server. Windows 2011SBS has Exchange 2010 which is fully compatible with Outlook 2013.
Well, you could of course go out tomorrow and grab copies of Microsoft Office 2010 while you can but our advice would be to make the leap to Windows 2011SBS or Exchange 2010. Windows 2011 Small business Server has many advantages over 2003SBS and increased performance, memory and storage capabilities too.
The good news
The good news is ISS have successfully migrated many clients from Windows 2003 SBS to Windows 2011 SBS and we can do the same for you.
